3 Thigh Exercises For Men and Women
More than likely, you are somewhat familiar with some form of the thigh exercise equipment that has been offered on late-night television. One of the most popular of these was put out several decades ago by a person named Suzanne Somers. The product that she was promoting at the time was known as the Thigh Master, and it was a rather simplistic product that really held out hope for individuals with flabby thighs.
By putting this contraption between your legs and squeezing it, pulling your legs together at the knees, you had an extremely effective thigh exercise that you can do at home. The unfortunate thing is, this particular piece of equipment is not always have the resistance that was necessary for you to progressively work out your thighs and tone them effectively. That doesn’t mean, however, that you are without options altogether. Here are 3 different thigh exercises that you can do in order to shape and tone this part of your body.
One of the first types of exercises that can be done is the seated leg raise. This is done with you sitting on the floor with your back straight and your legs positioned directly in front of you. Make sure that you have an adequate amount of weight strapped to your ankles so that you can provide resistance but not too much that you would injure yourself by trying to lift too much weight.
There are also some excellent machines at the gym that can really help you to strengthen and tone this part of your body. One of my personal favorites is a machine that gives you a weighted side leg raise. This works in two different directions, and you will be standing in the machine, facing away from the back of it. One leg will be flat on the floor, while the other leg will be off to the side, raising and lowering the weights which will be touching your ankles. Make sure that you keep your momentum controled so as not to give yourself any type of assistance in doing these exercises. Just keep in mind, the more controlled your exercise, the more benefit you’re going to receive as a result.
Finally, you should be doing squats and deadlifts regularly in order to tone all areas of the body effectively. The benefit that you have a doing these, however, is that they can directly work with that part of your body while at the same time, signaling the body that it is time to release chemicals that will promote muscle growth. Regardless of what type of exercise you are doing, always make sure to include a couple of these exercises at the core of your routine and you will see differences quickly.
